Survey reveals corporate attitudes towards outplacement
At the end of 2004 Connect commissioned a survey of HR professionals to investigate their attitude towards outplacement. Our findings included:
- Companies provide outplacement because they are concerned for the people who have to leave. They believe that employees benefit from outplacement help; and they generally think their provider does a good job.
- Is "survivor syndrome" a myth? The HR professional who responded did not see outplacement as helping to improve the morale of those who stay.
- 56% question whether outplacement is good value for money.
- Few companies say their outplacement provider offers a performance-based pricing arrangement
